About Gaby Triana

With 20 years of baking experience, Gaby Triana is a critically acclaimed, self-taught cake baker/decorator and author of teen novels living in Miami, Florida. Articles about her cakes and books have appeared in numerous review journals and newspapers, including The Miami Herald, The Sun Sentinel, and The Boston Globe. Her books include RIDING THE UNIVERSE, THE TEMPTRESS FOUR, CUBANITA, and BACKSTAGE PASS (HarperCollins). In addition, she teaches Language Arts to elementary school students, writing workshops for the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, and is the mother of three boys. Gaby has enjoyed baking her entire life, from the days when her mother baked and decorated cupcakes for her class parties in elementary school. She made her first decorated cake when she was 16 for her brother, Oscar. It was a blue birthday cake with an “Oscar” Academy Award on it. She has not stopped entertaining and designing cakes since.
